How to Maintain Your Natural Wood Cutting Board


Cutting board is one of the essential kitchenware among all the household.

 It can come in various shapes, various weights, made up of various materials, marked with a various price range.

 Nowadays, people use it for different purposes, such as cutting, chopping, serving, or plating. 

You can easily find more than one cutting board in any kitchen. 

It can be rubber, plastic, wood, or even glass.


The wooden cutting board is the most common one that can be found in the market. 

As it is more aesthetically pleasing, durable, easier to maintain. 

But I doubt that everyone is aware of the tricks to maintain or treat the cutting board.

 It is important as it would help in extending the shelf life of the cutting board itself and so on.

 First of all, all wooden A cutting boards will have the sawdust effect, especially after the natural effects with water and air.

So, here are some tips on how to maintaining your cutting board :



BEFORE USE:

 1. Wash and dry the new cutting board first 

2. Apply oil to the surrounding area (peanut oil/olive oil is recommended),

 wait for the oil to dry before use 


AFTER USE:

 1. After use, wash the surface, wipe dry, and then place it in a ventilated place to dry naturally.

 2. Regularly use oil to coat the surface of the cutting board for maintenance, which helps to extend the cutting board service life.


*For Acacia cutting boards: 

1. If the surface feels rough after several times of use, may use the sandpaper provided to grind the surface.

2. Then clean the grinded surface and followed by coating the surface with a layer of oil to smoothen it.


*Precautions:

 1. This cutting board is made of natural acacia wood, without adding any chemicals and preservatives.

 2. Do not soak in water for a long time to avoid excessive humidity and mildew.

 3. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, excessive drying, and cracking.
